JDE Architect, Shared Services

The Judson Group has partnered with an industry-leading organization in the search for an Architect, Shared Services. The Architect will be responsible for developing architectural designs and solutions for systems within the area of expertise and across Shared Service Platforms.  In this role, the architect will partner with Business Analysts and Technical Analysts to understand the overall business need, and develop an overarching architectural design and model that will support business needs. The incumbent will additionally lead solution development and implementation for new systems and enhancements, and participate in defining technical standards for the specialty area. 


· Responsible for the overall systems architecture and design in the area of expertise.  

· Serves as domain expert in all aspects of architecting, designing and application development.  

· Helps formulate deployment strategies in the area of expertise to ensure reliability and scalability for systems. 

· Assesses technological risks that could jeopardize the growth and/or operations of the organization; makes recommendations on applications retirement. 

· Leads and/or directs the work of a technical team. 

· Technology hands-on expert in specialty area. 

· Investigates new technology solutions, builds prototypes. 

· Provides consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. 

· Good knowledge and understanding of basic business and data flow is required. 

· Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the systems development concepts, practices, and procedures.  

· Writes specifications, develops architectural concepts and artifacts. 

· Experienced in writing high-quality technical documentation - creates technical documentation for architected solutions. 

· Mentors and develops junior staff 

· May conduct training to IS Staff.


· Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred; Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent field of study required. 

· Advanced degree preferred

· ITIL and PMP training and / or certification is a plus

· Software Development Methodology training and or certification is a plus

· At least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area required;

· Strong data analysis and problem solving skills;

· Hands on delivery experience in SDLC methodologies, waterfall and agile is required;

· Proven success delivering end to end ERP processes spanning all aspects of solution delivery, i.e. requirements, estimates, designs, approach, dev/build/test, monitoring, transition to production;

· Ability to engage business stakeholders to establish, define and maintain solution road maps for ERP systems ensuring they align with strategic and tactical business needs;

· Hands on experience in JD Edwards XE and E1 v8.0 required; experience with newer releases optimal; ideal candidate will have knowledge of or proven desire to work in SAP integrations and environments;

· Hands on experience in one or more of the following technologies: SFDC, Microsoft Azure, AWS stack, Hadoop, Apache software stack, lambda architecture, Open Source Big Data Stack and Power BI, Tableau, Lumira visualization technologies, IBM i Power Systems, iSeries;

· Self-starter, ability to embrace and learn new technologies, perform proof of concepts and assessments, agile pilots, leading to full blown delivery and adoption of a production solution;

· Hands on experience establishing and maintaining solution architecture design documents;

· Practical experience operating as the lead architect “owner” for a key business area, suite of ERP solutions, serving as owner for strategies, roadmaps;

· Proven track record in regularly assessing opportunities to enhance and streamline system portfolios;

· Practical experience as a lead escalation point of contact for production incidents with the ability to lead teams through solution assessments that improve stability;

· Experience in communicating, presenting concepts to multiple audiences: executive, director, and technical levels.

· Quick learner; ability to research and learn new technologies on own as necessary; 

· Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills; 

· Independent thinker can make technical decisions without extensive input from others; 

· Works independently without supervision;

· Strong team player;

· Ability to lead on and off-shore technical teams;

· Works effectively with cross-departmental teams;

· Excellent oral and written communication skills;

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
